Dr. Liz Arbittier hails from the
Elkins Park area of southeastern Pennsylvania.
She currently lives on a farm in the Perkiomenville area with her six horses,
four dogs, ten cats and a pet sheep named Thumper.
Dr. Arbittier graduated with top honors after pursuing a double major
studying Biology and English at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey. Having a
strong
interest in show jumping, she took time after completing her undergraduate
education to manage the road team of Olympic show jumper phenom, Kevin
Babington. On returning home, Dr. Arbittier pursued her veterinary education at
the University of Pennsylvania's School of Veterinary Medicine. She was a highly
celebrated and active student -- recipient of multiple academic and clinical
achievement awards and president of her class. Dr. Arbittier joined the practice
in
the summer
of 2001.
Dr. Arbittier's veterinary interests include sports medicine and issues
affecting
the performance horse , as well as internal medicine.
On a personal note, Dr. Arbittier has competed in hunters and jumpers in the
Amateur Owner division and enjoys bringing along youngsters to reach their potential
in either the hunter or jumper ring. She breeds on a small scale and looks
forward
to establishing a Warmblood breeding program aimed at producing quality
jumpers. In her spare time she enjoys reading and cheering for the EAGLES !
Another important part of her personal life is her work with Virgil, an
internationally certified therapy dog who , with Dr. Arbittier, visits nursing
homes as often as possible.
